What a Dope!

Wednesday, September 1st, 2010

I can’t believe I’m this dumb. I’ve been complaining because all of my traffic has been generated by links from the Les Paul Forum or Facebook or Tom H’s ES-335.net site. None of my traffic has come from search engines. None as in zero. Zip. Zilch. So, today, being September 1, I decided to upgrade my blogging program which I did. Of course, it didn’t work when I tried to log on and I didn’t totally read the upgrade directions and I thought I had lost every word I had written from Day 1 which, frankly, had me totally freaked. Even if I could rewrite every post, there is nothing in the world I hate more than redoing something I’ve already done. Anyway, the folks at WordPress are smarter than I am and I guess they somehow keep you away from your own database so you don’t screw it up (and blame them). However, when I logged back on to my dashboard-the thing that I control the content with, I got a pop up. It asked me if I wanted to continue to block all search engines. If I had had a mouthful of some liquid, I would have done a spit take. After 4 months of trying to get more readers (and I’ve gotten a fair number without Google, Yahoo and Bing), I find out I’ve had the search engines blocked. What a dope. Now, maybe when you search for information about 335s, this site will actually show up.
